Many of the ways we relate to ourselves, others, and the world begin long before we realize it. Experiences such as trauma, emotionally unpredictable relationships, or growing up in a dysfunctional family system can shape how we cope, connect, and make sense of ourselves. While these patterns often develop as understandable ways of adapting to difficult experiences, they can also leave us feeling stuck, disconnected, or repeating ways of relating that no longer serve us. Therapy offers an opportunity to bring compassionate awareness to these patterns, creating space for greater flexibility, choice, and healing.
Joscelyn specializes in supporting adults experiencing single-incident and complex trauma, the lasting impacts of emotionally difficult or dysfunctional family systems, and challenges related to perfectionism, chronic self-criticism, shame, and impostor syndrome. She also works with adults who grew up in families affected by addiction or other relational difficulties and are exploring how these experiences continue to shape their relationships, emotional wellbeing, and sense of self.
Many of Joscelyn's clients are thoughtful, capable, and deeply caring individuals who have learned to adapt by being responsible, achieving, caring for others, staying strong, or striving to do things "right." While these patterns often developed for understandable reasons, they can contribute to feeling overwhelmed, disconnected from oneself, struggling to set boundaries, or feeling uncertain about how to live more authentically.
Her approach is grounded in a relational and attachment-informed framework, recognizing that meaningful healing happens through connection, safety, and collaboration. She integrates mindfulness, nervous system-informed perspectives, and evidence-based therapies to help clients better understand their thoughts, emotions, body responses, beliefs, and relational patterns. Together, this work supports greater self-awareness, self-compassion, flexibility, and the development of practical tools that foster lasting change.
Depending on each client's goals and needs, Joscelyn integrates a range of evidence-based approaches, including:
Relational and attachment-based therapy
Somatic and nervous system-informed approaches
Mentalization-informed therapy
Parts work
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
Joscelyn's goal is to provide a safe, supportive, and collaborative space where clients feel understood and empowered to explore their experiences at their own pace. She believes healing is not about changing who you are, but about developing a more compassionate relationship with yourself, understanding the patterns that have shaped you, and creating new possibilities for how you move through life and relationships.
